From the recording Anthology

Nobody but Myself, as the title implies, is about how we and we alone are responsible for our choices and the consequences that come from them. It was probably the most personal and reflective lyric by Frank Hanson to date. It takes in the past, present, and future in a poignant way and is an admission of responsibility for both real and imagined choices. The music is appropriately conversational and somewhat melancholy. It was a personal statement that both musically and lyrically would never really be stated in the same way again.
