Older Woman is a song about a short lived affair between an 18 year old man and a woman of roughly 35 years of age. It is based on real events and is full of humor and commentary on the state of mind of a young man on the verge of a whole new type of discovery. The shuffling, infectious big band style groove and arrangement were by Matt Snyder and are an homage to the group's origins in high school big band jazz. Older Woman really "swung" and was an exciting perennial favorite at Thin Ice live shows.
